I think I paid like $500 from Jersey to Florida like 3 years ago. It's only 450 miles take a road trip with a friend it'll be cheaper for you.

Depends on which transport company you use....I transported a car from NY to Calif. Got estimates from 4 different companies. Range from $900 - $1600. There are generally 3 levels of service.
1)Inside transport - The most expensive, car is loaded inside a fully enclosed carrier, not exposed to any elements
2) Outside transport Top Load - Regular car carrier, but on the top level, does not get oil and junk driping on it because it is on top.
3) Outside transport Bottom Load - Cheapest...and potentially dirtiest.

Then there are options for how the car is picked up and delivered.
1) Door to Door - Most expensive, they pick you car up from you location (or as close as posible) and drop off at your designated location.
2) Terminal to Terminal - You take your car to their terminal (could be close or far depending on where you live) and pick it up from their terminal on the delivery side. Least expensive.
3) Terminal to Door or Door to Terminal - Middle ground, middle expense.

Be careful on this...lots of low quality transport companies out there. Poor customer service, poor service, horror stories about how long it takes to get cars delivered and what shape they are in when they get there. Check out this website, user ratings and experience with a number of companies.

Auto Transport User Ratings

I used America's Choice Auto Movers and gave them a very good rating.

Here is there website:

America's Choice

Again..be careful. Most of the transport companies have really bad reputations. They will tell you one thing to get your business and then once they have your money, the tune changes. There are horror stories about deposits that were taken, cars taking 2-3 months to move, extra charges, damage to cars...but there are 4-5 good companies out there.

If you have any other questions I'd be happy to help out.

good luck

Yep I agree, generally dealers use a pretty reputable company cause they want repeat business. But you might ask them who they are using and see if you can look them up on the website that I listed or check them out with better business.

Might just give you some more peace of mind.
