figuring out my top speed.
heres the deal, today i found out my ar did not have a govenor. so i went out to a straight flat an secluded area where i did a few 0-whatever i can hit runs. and heres what i found out.
1st gear:0-40 shift into 2n at 5750RPM
2nd gear:40-75/80 shift to 3rd at same RPMs
3rd 80-110 shift into OD (4th gear)same RPMS
and from there i was doing a max of 130MPH @ 3750 RPMs and the speedometer needle was stil limbing ata pretty decent rate
Mods:SRI,4-2-1 headers, 2 1/4" Cat back and gutted lol.estimated HP is about 175/180
right now i cant afford to take a trip to germany and import my car to germany to do a full test on the auto bahn, so mathematically im tinkng my top speed would be hovering around 150-160 @5750(shift point for the oher gears)6250 RPM(my redline)
not bad for an altima lol

I got super lucky once, or a bunch of times at once and pushed my car to the speed limiter.
I was heading south on the highway from Albany, NY to Newburgh, and about halfway down, traffic was stopped. Apparently, a few miles ahead, a tractor trailer full of blasting caps, aka, explosives... FLIPPED OVER on an offramp. Lucky 1 was not getting blown up. Got turned around, and since both north and southbound was blocked, the northbound above the wreck (where I was) was vacant... and waiting for speed (lucky 2). I was cruising about 90 with some dude in a BMW right on my ***. C'mon... the highway is empty... back off... He didn't, and thats when I decided to open it up. I lost him at about 120, I continued on to about 145mph before I hit the speed governor. Lucky 3 was that all the cops in the area were already busy with the wreck, so no cars, or cops... pretty much a closed course (except for the ******* with the beemer who I left in the dust).
Speed is fun.

apperently mine doesnt, my speedometer only goes up to 120, and the needle went past that fairly quickley. that would explain why the 00-01 altima has the speedometer that goes up to 140, but those probably have a limiter.
