Well after almost 2 years of waiting and saving, along with switching between a B5 S4 to an A3, then B6 S4, then B7 A4, then back to the A3 and B7 A4, then a B5 S4, finally bought a B6 S4! Well here it is, a 2004 S4 Red on Black with 41,000 miles. Pretty much fully loaded except nav and is REALLY clean, interior and exterior are almost flawless! Picked it up way under KBB so really happy with the overall sale, even though the gas mileage sucks but I am coming from a 7.4L Suburban []

 

Sweeeet. Enjoy it, and throw an exhaust on it to shut up those pickups with their 'manly fart pipes'

Honestly, the only thing that really turns me off from the B6 S4 is the terrible gas mileage...such a sexy car, though.

 

Also, funny that you say you've been saving for almost two years, and according to your profile, are 19. I'm 16 and my plan is pretty much to save for the next couple years so I have enough in the bank for a nice down payment on a graduation present to myself.

 

Other than tint exhaust is going to be one of the first things I'll do! I might get the new (B7)V8 badges that go beneath the corners first however.


Haha wouldnt settle for anything less! Also one of the main selling factors since they're hard to come by.

I didnt fully realise how sh*tty the gas mileage was actually going to be. When you get on it its some where around 7mpg, under hard acceleration mind you. If you baby it its not too bad, averaged over 20mpg driving back from sacramento. In a way the car is going to slow me down in one way but also makes me want to drive it hard; slow on highways to get 20+ mpg and fast just because I cant resist . Beware of insurance [:@][:'(]

It was a long two years man but doable. I was on cars.com/autotrader.com usually everyday for the two years, just wait until you're ready to buy and the right one will come around. And I also recommend using an independent auto broker that buys from auctions.

 

Congratulations on the purchase! That is a sweet ride, dude. AV8 is the only way I would ever be tempted to own a B6.
