heel & toe
since I have been driving my golf a lot more latley [sm=smiley11.gif] I have been praticing my heel toe action a lot easier on the golf than the A4 pedals are closer togeather but has any one mastered this my foot keeps sliding off the gas pedal but when it does work proberly I can see how you can go faster around a corner with more control and have lots of speed coming out of the corner

RE: heel & toe
I don't think I'll ever be able to heel-toe correctly. My feet are just too damn big and my legs are too damn long. I've tried a few times but its like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole...
Heel-Toe will definitely give you more accelleration out of a corner since your revs will remain high. Problem is..you really need a clutch/flywheel that can handle that kinda driving. If you rev high and drop your stock clutch on it..that baby's gonna melt like marshmellows over camp fire! If you're not dropping your clutch (or at least aggressively releasing it)..what seems to be the point of keeping your revs high?
You can do a mild version of heel-toe with the stock clutch but if your really into it..you're gonna wanna get a performance clutch/flywheel. Also I'd be careful when practicing..you don't wanna have the brakes engaged and the vehicle trying to accelerate as well..you'll wear your brakes real quick doin that.
Let me know if/when ya get good at it! I'd be interested in knowing just how much advantage this will give you around corners.

RE: heel & toe
Heel and Toe is only any real use on a RWD car i've found, might be good on a 4wd car but the only 4wd's i've driven have been Mitsubish EVO's and Ford Sierra cosworths, so you don't need to heel toe and you're to busy trying not to crash!

RE: heel & toe
the idea with heal toe is you are braking with the clutch in so you dont stall while holding your toe on the gas pedal to keep rpms up so you don't let them drop while braking. If you keep them up while braking you can simply let off the brake and let the clutch out-rpms are already up- and accelerate out of a corner. This tecnique mastered is good on any type of manual car. Also work on the powershifting- keep in the gas while shifting gears (slamming gears actually)-great for drag racing- just don't miss a gear
