How do i make firefox my default browser? It is set as defualt under their tool options but the shortcuts on my desktop dont go to it unless i pick it from the list however they do show the firefox logo on them.

 

Do you have it set as your default under the internet options?

yea, well ive know forever but someone just told me its way faster so i started using it and it is. Under which internet options? It is under firefox's but under windows i only see an option for IE but its unchecked.

 

It sounds like not a default browser problem, but more of a file type association problem. Right click on the file, Open with, Choose Program..., then make sure that when you choose Firefox you check the box that says "Always..."

Also, now that you have Firefox, you need some extensions:
Add Forecast to Status Bar
Tab Browsing Preferences
Music Controls

There are some pretty good search engines for the top right box too: Search Engines

Another option is to uninstall Internet Explorer using "Add or remove programs" under the control panel, go to "Add or remove windows components," and uncheck Internet Explorer. You can still use it when necessary by clicking Windows Update in the start menu or by installing an extension for Firefox.

 

2 months? pah... I've had it for a good year! You're so slow!! Use the extensions. I have weather, music player, tab x, download them all, etc.. fantastic. Apperently the next IE is going to be done in a similar way.

Also, if you can't be arsed getting Microsoft office, or hate it, then try googling for 'open office'...

 

I've never heard of anyone that uses it? Is it used as a faster dial up connection or a faster cable connection as well? I have cable and can't see where it could be any faster?

 

the internet explorer is very slow and it cannot keep up with most hispeed connections, honestly id say firefox is prob 3 times faster
