I HATE BANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

yeah so i added a class to my schedule which apparently almost completely depleted one of my checking accounts. i then used that account to buy gas, food, and other little stuff. all charges under 10 bucks, but of course each and every one of them caused a $35 overdraft charge. nearly 500 bucks in total[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] this started on the 4th, and of course the stupid ass bank can't notify me or anything but rather just let me rack up 500 in fees, and THEN disable my card. BUT in the beginning of the year my mom set up a credit card for charges over what my balance is, to be automatically charged to that instead of getting overdrafted. She did it for both me and my sister at the same time. My sisters account got the card linked to her account but the stupid fvcking worker didn't link it to mine as well, so now the bank is telling me im fvcked. the money i had to transfer into that account, was for my rent and utilities, so now im gona wind up draining my other account to pay for that, which leaves me bankrupted. fvcking great. hooray for piece of sh!t suntrust. and they have the audacity to come up with a slogan "Seeing Beyond Money" WHAT...A...FVCKIN...JOKE!!!

for you bank specialists on the site, is there any way for me to get some of this money back? this is a huge deal to me

Yikes! Did you talk to the bank manager?
Maybe there's a way for you to just cover the purchases, so they can drop the overdraft fees?

That sucks man. Try to find out who it was that was supposed to link your credit card to your account and yell alot while there are customers around. Sometimes they will help you out just to shut you up. Although it's not the best idea sometimes...

I worked at a bank for awhile and we would refund overdraft fees in certain cases. I would talk to the branch manager and see if he can at least meet you half way on the charges. If you don't have a history of lots ofoverdrafts I'm sure they would give some back, unless the manager is a real d**k. Just remember to remain civil and they should work with you.

well the person who was supposed to link the credit card is in south florida, my mom went and talked to her today and she is sayin my mom only told her to link it to my sister's account, which is total bullsh!t, she is just trying to cover her ass. i'll go talk to the manager tomorrow since the banks are about to close and i dont have a working car[&o] thanx for your help

I would imagine so. Do they have a customer call in center? I'd try there if you can. i wouldn't want to wait till Monday if you're needing the cash.

4words... balance yourcheck book... do this and thiswill NEVER happen again.. i got into your situation soo many times because i would never balance a check book when i was in school. want to make the bank tellers/ managers look dumb, ask them " so according to the rule of 72, how often does my money double?

i knew someone would say that. there's no way i can keep track of every purchase. i use this card quite a few times everyday. i carry no cash on me. i just keep my eye on how much is left, but the class threw me off since it was supposed to be taken out of my other account. and i got the credit card for THIS VERY REASON. i dont use the credit card at all. its locked up in my room and only for extreme emergency's and for the overdraft crap, incase it should ever happen.

why in the hell would i get the credit card from the bank specifically for this purpose (it was their recommendation) and not have them hook it up? these people are complete retards
