All the reviews say that it pales in comparison to the first, but, that almost ALWAYS happens with sequels (quick, name a sequel that was better than the first...). From the prevews & commercials, it looks like they're leaning more heavily on the story's technology and less on the characters. But, you know what? They do that in the actual comics, too!

It really wasn't as good as the first one...

started out pretty strong, Mickey Rourke played a good main enemy, they switched the army friend to Don Cheadle, who I like, but kept finding myself wanting the original guy. Gwynneth Paltrow ruins this one every bit as much as she ruined the first one. They didn't really end up any further into the Avengers plot line than where they left it after the first one. The middle of the movie was entirely too slow, boring, cliche...and the final battle with the Mickey Rourke character was completely anti-climactic.

Spoiler alert - the final credits scene implies that Thor will be making an appearance next...

yeh, even that scene wasn't all that great...

The SHIELD guy who had to leave for Colorado in the middle of the movie...they show him driving through the desert, then he gets out, and they show a big crater with some people excavating, then cut back to him, he calls someone and says "We found it". Then they pan a shot of a big norse rock hammer. the end.

I may have liked the movie better than the R8 Cabriolet...something still doesn't seem right about the aesthetics of that car.

The original Iron Man was undoubtedly better, though.
