Default Land speed cars.

Pretty cool article if you're interested in this kind of thing. I can't even imagine 200MPH... They're shooting for 5x that. Crazytalk. And look at the design for the British contender! A jet with a rocket. As if being strapped to a jet engine wasn't enough... Don't know if I could do that stuff.

I hit 515 in my A4 last Saturday at the strip. It's true; just ask the Easter Bunny. He was there getting drunk.

I detect a hint of sarcasm.

Big props to someone who would even attempt such a thing.

Although I imagine its somewhat of a waste of time and resources. Atleast air speed records have practical applications in the military. These things are basically just airplanes that are designed to stay on the ground.

To some people, the land speed record is a very big deal. The company I work for did some work on the GE J79 engine that was supposed to go into Steve Fossett's car.

To me its kinda like speed walking.

If you want to go faster just run/fly.

I understand its a technical challenge, but I dont see the value in keeping your wheels on the ground.

This is for people like John Madden, who are afraid to fly .

If they can get a "car" to do 1000mph, surely 500mph busses are not too far behind.
This gets them jet-speed travel without the phrase "impact-zone" being used when something goes wrong. However, in this case, I think, the proper phrase to use in case of catastrophie would be: "Debris Field."

Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral resturaunts will need to begin install "launch-pads" at the back of their parking lots. Gramma & Grampa wanna see the coast, NOW!!!
