I've listened to Pac and Biggie and also never turned into a big fan of their music. It was good but not the best rap I've heard. I think their tragic deaths made them seem even better. And most of Lil' Wayne's music doesn't involve him screwing chicks. Its all about money. "Money over bit*hes and bit*he's under all". Somehow he raps about the same thing over and over again and it doesn't get old.

Yea i usually don't hear him rapping about ****** hoes/shooting people etc, except for "Ask Dem Hoes" lol, 1000 degrees is the best song off the Carter, and even though tupac is such a classic i don't think he compares to Wayne in the least bit. I do not think Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive, if any of you listen to Immortal Technique you know how crazy his songs are, they are more lyrically intelligent but Wayne has so many albums!!

1000degrees isn't on the c3, but it's still great. lyrically i think jay is above wayne. jay is elite lyricist. I like waynes lyrics, and mostly his flow. He does those nasty kanye beats well.

rap is dead. No substance, just repetitive, commercial songs about how much money, jewelry and hoes they have. Lil wayne is good, I like his style but theres still no substance.

I can see where you would think that rap is redundant but nowadays a lot of rappers rap about the industry. For example, Jay-Z's album American Gangster is about his experiences in the hip hop world which involves women and money. But I think Jay-Z does a nice job of being unique and giving his songs meaning.

I agree to a level, there are still some real rappers. But it's hard to talk about real rap when "soulja boy" is considered a rapper.

Trey i suggest if you haven't take a listen to Lupe Fiasco's The Cool. That man has substance.

+1 on the Jay-z comments.

My favorite's from American Gangster are No Hook, Hello Brooklyn (Features Lil Wayne so I think you'll Like it), Pray, Roc Boys, Ignorant ****, and Say Hello or Party life if you're looking to slow it down a little. I also recommend checking out the Grey Album if you're a Beatles fan. Its a mashup done by DJ Dangermouse of Jay-Z's Black Album and The Beatles' White Album. Or if you like his old school stuff check out Hard Knock Life, Izzo, or Big Pimpin.
