Looking at getting a 2007 Aston Martin Vantage V8
Will keep the A4 as my winter beater and the AM as my summer car.
Guys I know this is an Audi forum so please no bashing. That said there must be a few of you here who have considered the sexy lines of the AM
Does anyone here have any insight as to the costs of annual maintenance? I've been on the AM forums before but they are rather dead to be honest. It seems AM owners have their heads so far up their own asses that they don't even follow their brand like Audi owners do..... Hence my reason for posing here lol.
Cheers and thanks.

My next two automotive purchases will be either a '07-'09 Legacy GT and a V10-S8; or a Legacy GT and a '07-08 RS4. My heart's set on the S8, but there's more and better (i.e. affordable) power-up options for the RS. PLUS, the RS can be had with a 6sp.

I have a feeling that the majority of Aston buyers simply drop the car off for any/all service to be billed against a platinum card that's kept on file. Not many are likely to be driveway mechanics.

A few months later and it's come down to the 2013 S4 and the 07 Aston Martin Vantage V8... Still very torn. BTW, the parts and labor costs for the AM are NOT as crazy as many would think when compared to an Audi.

That said, more mainstream petrol heads will be considering the 07 Vantage V8 when looking at the AM brand as their next toy.... I think of it this way. I've always wanted a super car an this is the cheapest one I can get for the money and year.

Well I have some new insight on this class of car after yesterday. See my post in the B5 section for the details, but I spent Sunday morning running autocross laps in a Ferrari 360 Modena and a Lamborghini Gallardo, and after experiencing what this class of car is like, I'm with Jazz - if you can hack the purchase price and cover the work, go for it. The experience in the automotive stratosphere was amazing. If I could swing it, I would be Gallardo shopping right now instead of replying to this post

At 380BHP and 350 f/lb of torque I'd hardly compare it to a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Those cars are definitely in a much higher class and handle just as much higher. The "Baby Vantage" however, is far sexier. It's almost as if they modeled the curves of the car from some gorgeous model with sexy hips. I love the look but the multitude of reviews I've seen and read have all mentioned the same issue, POWER!
The car is gutless for what you pay and although AM did something about it with their 2009 line up, the 06-08's are lacking huge in this department.
Also, the creature comforts you'd find in a similarly priced S4 or Merc are just not there. But hey, am I paying for bells and whistles or am I paying for one of the sexiest looking cars ever made? Me thinks I'm paying for the latter.
