Just out of curiousity...why only 3500ft?
why not 12,000? airspace restrictions or something? How does altitude vary?
Oh and another question, does the plane go in slow flight before you jump?
Ive always wondered because if its moving at 140kts and u jump out wouldnt you hit the horizontal stabalizer? lol ..

We start out at 3500 ft because we are doing a static line jump. Our parachutes open as soon as we leave the plane. I have 2 more jumps at that alt. then I will go up to 12000ft and thats when the real fun begins!
Also yes they do slow the plane down. We are moving about 90-100MPH or so when we jump.
