Default Messed-Up Sleep Patterns

Right now it's going on 11:30p.m., and I finally perked up enough about an hour ago to be able to work on some homework and watch some Family Guy without struggling to keep my eyes open. Keep in mind that I've been awake since 6:30 this morning, and basically all of my classes after lunch through about 7p.m. I had a headache from being so tired. So far today I've only had two drinks with caffeine in them - one of them a bottle of Dr. Pepper, and the other a large sweet tea from McD's. I'm not sure what I need to do, but I've gotta do something to break this cycle.

Anyone else like this??

It doesn't matter when I go to bed or when I wake up I always get tired around 8:30 or 9:00 but by about 10 or 11 I'm wide awake and can't fall asleep until after 2.

NOt really, I have a decent schedule right now of wake up about 8:30 -9 on the weekdays, and then go to bed around 1:30-2 (also on weekdays) on the weekends it's more like wakeup around 10:30-12:00 and go to bed somewhere inbetween 3-4.

I'd say it's just the person, my roommate sleeps most of the day while I'm at class or doing other things and then still complains he's tired at times, so I'm not sure(he sleeps a lot)

what I'd say is try to re regulate your sleep patterns, I know it's difficult but I know it's possible and you should try to get on a regular schedule of sleep/awake.

I try to stay on a regular sleeping pattern but sometimes I break it. It usually consists of me going to sleep around 12:30 am after Family Guy and some grub. I could really stay up till 4 am but it's not really good for me. I used to do that and it made me really tired through the day.

Do you drink a lot of caffeinated drinks. I remember you said you were drinking lots of Red Bulls. Sometimes after taking in lots of caffeine and then stopping, you can get headaches and not be as perky. Caffeine is a drug you know.

Chill out. Listen to some Massive Attack.

I've actually not been drinking very much Red Bull lately (maybe a four pack every couple weeks). It's mainly sweet tea - I get it for free at work, so that's what I usually drink.

i'd say give up caffeine completely. i don't know how long it taked for your body to adjust, but that would be the first thing to go. then, really watch your sugar intake. i know artificial sweeteners aren't the best either, but may be better than the real thing.
then, i'd make sure you're doing some good exercise as many time per week as you can.
other than that i don't know.
maybe your body is going thru a growing period and that's sending everything out of whack.

not sure if im the best person to give advice about this.... as sweet tart can certainly attest too
Hehe, yeah...probably not.

And about giving caffeine up completely - I'm trying to limit it right now, and may eventually cut it out completely, but it's likely going to take a while.

If I actually do cut it out completely it'll probably have to wait until summer when I can find things (other than school) to distract me from the headaches and seemingly non-stop tiredness I'm sure to have. [:-]
