Default Most embarissing thing to happen to me

yeah so normally i dont do this but i left school and was on my way to a gas station to fill up as the gas light was on since i left int eh morning. 1 mile from the gas station the A4 sputters to a a halt. had to call my angel of a friend angie to come get me and drive me to get some gas. i was so embaressed. and somewhere in thanking her i said ill treat her to a steak diner so.... yeah very sad moment for me in running out of gas, first time ever. espacially in the middle of a snow storm.

LOL.

That's not too bad. Are you buying her dinner to shut her up?

I'm curious as to how many miles left of gas does it say on your display?

I'm curious, too. I know my car will run a decent distance with the light on...

That sucks, though...haha!!

that happened to me last year. Had to work about a mile to a gas station. Buy 2 gallons then walk back to my car in 30 degree weather. It was totally unnecessary too. I was somewhere in jersey looking driving around looking for an autozone or pepboys.

I've ran the tank dry 3 times in the TT. No working fuel gauge, I go by the odometer and average fuel milage.

First time I was about 100 yards from the gas station I was driving to, so I jogged the car down the road and into the station.
Second time, I was about a mile from that same station. Had a friend who was just about to go on lunch break pick me up on his way thru and give me a ride to the gas station.
Third time was here in VT (the others were in NY), and it quit just as I was passing a station, so I whipped it thru traffic and coasted it to the pump.

It's embarrassing because even 100ft away from the station, theres people that jump out of cars to help push the TT to the pump. I think they just want to put their hands on the car.

^ u dont go by the lcd display matt? ever since my fuel gauge effed up, ive been goin off the miles left display.

anyways i ran out of gas on a very busy intersection (huntington/santa clara in arcadia for you socal folks) and low and behold, a cop in his charger was behind me. he flashed his lights and wondered why i wasn't movin and thought i was hiding something.

i told the officer i ran out of gas and he laughed. so he used his charger w/ the lights on to block the intersection while he pushed the TT off into a parking lot while i steered it inside the car. then i walked about a block to get gas and off i went.

i got the VIP treatment for pushing a car. rofl.
