Default My straying eyes...

I hate to admit it, but my eyes have strayed, and I'm having immoral thoughts about another woman. She's 5 years younger than my current lady, and just screams of sex and indecent behavior.

She's an '04 M3 convertible and she looks like sex on 19 inch wheels. Black on cinnamon leather, 6 speed manual (none of that finicky SMG stuff), and just all around lust worthy. I've dreamt about her since I saw her.

I feel bad for my impure thoughts, but after my second winter without a single flake of snow to play in, I'm questioning my actual need for quattro with at least 3-4 more snowless winters in my future. Why not play around with a RWD mistress that looks sexy as hell for a few years before "settling" back down with my true love.

Now, I know just about every (unbiased) review out there hands down picks the S over the M for this generation, especially with the added weight of the vert, but this M3 just looks so damn sexy, I can't help but lust after her.

Discuss...

slight editor's note: I am a few short months away from "donating" my B5 to my oldest son, so I would not be completely Audi-less.

Allowable dirty thoughts only if you get the hardtop:

However, I must say, I myself have some pretty mixed emotions on this particular year. Some of the styling is just a little... off in my opinion; I dunno exactly what it is that doesn't sit right- maybe lines where they shouldn't be, or too boxy of a nose to flow right with the rest of the body, but if I were to ever consider adding a set of kidney grills to my garage (read: adding, not replacing anything ) it would have to be the brand new (I know, completely out of any of our ranges, but we can all dream, eh?) 2013 M3 coupe:

I went and looked at it today... felt nice to sit in, but something felt a little off about it. It has almost 100K miles on it, but feels older than that. They would have to come WAY down in price for me to consider it.

Edit: the body is straight sex to me, one of my favs.

How much are they asking for it?

17K. I could probably talk them down to 15, but that still feels like way too much.

So what is all the fuss about an M3? I've never driven one, but to me it's still a 3 series. Are they worth the hype? I would look at a M5 first just for the size, even my A4 seems a little small sometimes.

Isn't that like saying what's the fuss about an S4? I mean, it's just a 4 series...

Which is the route I've decided I'm going to go (eventually). There's an '06 25th anniversary quattro edition in Houston I have my eye on

Plane doctor, to really appreciate ANY BMW, you'd have to drive them on European roads. Switchbacks, diminishing-radius corners, elevation changes, combinations of all of those and more are where BMW's come into their own, IMHO. Here (in 'Merricuh), they're more a "my dad can beat your dad," kinda thing. But, that goes quattro-so for Audi's that aren't in a snowstorm or ski-resort in Europe.

Worth it? If you can afford a good, clean, well-kept version, hellz-to-the-yeah.

^ now that seems like a great choice. 25th anniversary for the win.

If you must go BMW, I think you should just go for an E39. I've always liked those especially when it's modded.

It's a beautiful car. If I had to get rid of the B5 as a project, the E39 would be the car I'd get as my project.
