Default NE techies on the boards?

OK, this totally hot GMILF (hey, I'm old, most women in my age group are GM's, NEmore) that I'm trying to impress asked me to troubleshoot her computer. She's got a problem I've NEVER run across before. After 2 tries, and LOTS of searching on some of teh tech boards I'm STILL stumped. Thought I'd try runnin it past you numbskulls. Heregoes...

IE won't close. Once a window opens, it's OPENED!!! Only way to close it is thru task manager. Popups close just fine. IE window, not so much. Yes, I've cleaned it seven ways from Sunday of spyware, malware, adware, and even some suspicious looking freeware. My next attempt (when I get back from my business trip to WPB, FL) will be to dig into teh registry and look for NEthing that might be out of the ordinary.

(constructive) Suggestions? (hopefully, but I'm not expecting NEthing but insults and ridicule from you guys[])

try to uninstall IE and reinstall it from a downloaded version if IE is the trim preferred. if that doesnt work, it prolly is registry related

try running anti-virus software, if you didn't already.

otherwise, i would agree with jest. back up her stuff, and reinstall windows. plus that'll give you more time to be around her (you can stretch it out into several days). anyway, good luck.
