Default New Employee

Ok,

Here where I work we got a new employee yesterday. Her name is Lauran Hardy. I am not making this up. LOL. I sent an email to my wife (who is 26, and I am 34) telling her about this and she did not know what was so funny about her name. EVEN after I told her what the name represented, she did not know who they were. THEN it turned to an arguement as she told me most people would not understand this.....WTF!!

So I am posting here to see how many people on this forum understand why, if your last name is Hardy, that you should never call your daughter Lauran.

LOL.

Laurel and Hardy... lol... gawd I'm old!

Had a similar incident with and old gf - watched a PBS special on a play about the life and times of Groucho Marx - very well done. She didn't have a clue as to who he was or who the Marx Bros were

Thank You!! But these guys were dead long before I was born, and I know them, so I do not think it has to do with age. I think it has to do with lifestyle or culture.

Agree.....

I'll have to check with a buddy of mine. His last name is Hardy, and he has a 19 yr old dtr. Her name isn't anything like "Laurel Ann", butI wonder if he and his ex considered it.

.
BTW......I went to H.S. with a girl by the last name of "Hill".

Yup........parents named her "Beverly". We were not too far from there, either.

I have no idea who these people are so I'll google them in a minute but I just want to add, a guy I knows girlfriend's name is Lauren head, and she didn't understand why her name was funny to use until we told her about it. needles to say I almost laughed my a$$ off when I found out she had no idea, and she became Lauren BJ for a while.
