I know some of you might laugh at me when I ask this, but what the hell is a "BUMP"? I've been away from the forums in the last few months, and I hadn't seen that term before. Thanks for the clarification

 

when you want to move a thread up from the bowels of the forum you post to it, thus instantly bringing it to the fore, and possibly once again making it relevant. Such an action is considered a "BUMP" and is sometimes accompanied by humorous pictures...

How about some funny "bump" pictures to illustrate my point, folks?

 

Isn't that considered to be some sort of spam?

 

Spam involves some attempt at commerce and is always annoying.

Bumping a thread may or may not be annoying, but it doesn't involve selling anything.
