Alright so for the past month my passenger headlight has been acting funky as a monkey. Wont turn on every now and then, give the headlight a "love tap" and reset the car and all is it needed to get it going again.... until two days ago that is. Finally went out and demanding to stay out. Ballast blew and I'm slightly fuming. Found out x-tec is an absolute POS way too late. So I call up my best friend (the one who also bought this and told me to buy it, only to find out right after I installed it that it was a POS) and he told me one of his friends who I know, had an extra ballast that he'd sell me for $30. Bingo, I'm happy again, so I go to his house to pick it up and turns out its "slightly used". Screw that, I'm outa there. Back to fuming.... I go online and fire out an e-mail to the guy I got it from (umnitza.com, who btw is absolutely awsome and will help you with anything he physically can, quick shipping...sorry, just had good experiences with him). Hopefully the lifetime warranty on the ballast is still good. So then I decide to invstigate the in's and out's of xtec... try to hunt down a website only to find this. Apparently x-tec is owned by some larger company, no surprise, who wrote this directly on there company homepage:

Therefore any warranty claims for HID related products MUST, without exception, be handled through your selling vendor. AUTHORIZED product is traceable to the original seller. All warranty returns must be processed through your original reseller who will contact Apexcone with your S/N and sales information. Under no circumstances will Apexcone be able to work directly with consumers unless your Apexcone product was purchased directly from Apexcone and your sales information is on file with us.

I just sent them an e-mail asking about the description of the ballast, in case I got a "counterfeit" one. I've been online and seen pictures of the x-tec kit and my ballast looks nothing like the regular one. I'm just gunna wait for the e-mails to be responded to cause I'm out of ideas. I'm just so... not happy about this right now I cannot tell you. Its pathetic that I should be doing a calc project right now... I'm so proud I have my priorities in order lol.


If anyone should know someone that has an extra ballast for sale, or have one for sale themselves... this is where you come in to my delema... thanks to anyone who can help in anyway.
