Hey guys,
just wanted to let you know that I am now officially engaged! Saturday was the day of the event and the wedding will be in October 14th of this year! It was a traditional ceremony for hte engagement and I cannot ask for anything better for the new year!! I'm excited and can't wait for October to come around!

Congrats! That looks like quite a bash for an engagement. That ups the ante for the wedding.
Did you ask her father before you asked her? or the other way around? or didn't ask him? I'll assume you asked her.
