This season, Jeremy Clarkson said that Audi is the new "dick" car as BMW used to be. I kinda chuckled at that comment and though nothing of it until tonight. Tonight, I had an extended test drive in an Audi Q7 4.2 S-line. While driving on the interstate, I had numerous encounters that seem to confirm Clarkson's philosophy. The first incident involved me correctly passing a car only to be berated and called a "f-in son of a bi***" and ordered to "learn to drive"...I know this because both passengers in my car were able to read his lips. Later on, I again, correctly passed a car only to be flipped off by some rather emo kids. Later, during some "spirited" driving, involving passing cars on rather narrow roads, I was honked at repeatedly by everyone I passed...although I passed in a completely safe manner. So do you all agree? Is Audi becoming the new "dick", "****", "snob" car?

I think to an extent, yes, I have noticed more people who buy for brand name are buying Audi's now and they create the **** mentality that is then passed onto us enthusiasts

alot more trendy no brain rich people who know nothing about cars are driving audis now
the people who would buy BMWs and Mercs are now buying audis

Unfortunately that's the case. Instead of being a more enthusiast based company, more and more of the brand name types are getting into audis now. It's all the marketing hype audi puts out. I still think bmw will always be douchebag car of choice and merc the pompous oldfart.

 

yes so many people are buying audis because of recent media coverage, i remember when i was in school and no one really knew about audis i was the only there with my S4, and i too have noticed those people that flick, swear or flash me when i pass in a safe manner, not saying that sometimes i do deserve it.

 

People always get pissed off when some one passes them it seems

 

if your going too slow your gonna get passed, ive had people pass me well beyond the speed limit and i moved over out of curtousey, maybe they're in a hurry or just douchebaggy, id rather be safe for my own sake, theres no reason to get pissed when you get passed.
