I'm new to this forum but had a question. I have a 2004 A4 3.0 with 17" wheels. To make a long story short, my buddy came across a set of 18" ronal r39 rims with pirelli winter tires on them. Tires are brand new and the rims are about 5 years old but in good shape. He wants $800 for all four. I'm not really in the market for new or winter tires( i currently have about 27k on the ones i have now. My question is, is this a good deal? I live in michigan so i can see the benefit of a winter tire but these are 18". And at 27k miles, sooner or later I've gotta replace my current tires...Any help would be fantastic

well u MUST not run winter tires when its warm outside... i mean they gonna be gone in 2 months
i wouldnt worry THAT much about going 18" for the winter setup... But i mean, if u like the look, if they FIT your car (5x112) then you would only benefit from driving on winter tires in the snow.

 

i'd go for 19s.

I ran 18's last winter (BBS RX) with Nokian WR's and it was a pain in the ****. Big wheels get packed full of snow, and the vibration nearly shakes your car apart.
