Opinions on Volvo S40 2.4i and S60 2.4T
g/f is looking for a car. 2003 s60 2.4t and a 2005 s40 2.4i. I am not familar with volvo....any one have either of these or have opinions on them???
Thanks
Thanks
I think my girlfriend's little sister has a 2.4i (2001 or so)(that is the 5 cylinder right?) it is supposed to be a super reliable engine and car, but hers is always breaking. And she only has 80K miles. I think really it is just that her parents got ripped off with some kind of an electrical problem that no one is fixing. So watch out for weird electrical problems.
Her parents just bought the 2.4t (I think it was a 2003 or 4) and they love it. I have not heard anything bad about it. Her dad likes to compare their car with my A6. I told them when they were shopping to get an A6 2.7t and it would be way better.

I had a S60 2.4t and it was one of the best if not the best car I have ever owned. Mechanical wise, it was the best car I have ever had. Never one problem and I drove the crap out of it. The interior is extremely comfortable and the quality is great. I love my Audi but if I had to do it over again, I'm afraid I might have to go back to Volvo. I really like the way the S60R drives and looks.
I dont really care for the styling, but cant fault the car other than that. I know quite a few people with them and they swear they are wonderful cars, best they ever owned. Of course, they never owned an Audi
Thanks for all the feedback.
She went with the s60. She liked the S40 body stlye better, but the s40 had been a zip car and probably got a lot of abuse. Teh s60 had a single owner, and was in great shape.
cheers...
