Default Pain in my ASSSS

OK so i know this is an audi forum and this thread is about my audi but i didnt wanna clog up any other sections with this rant. Is it possible for someone to really love the car he drives but at the same time want nothing more than for it to get stolen and driven off a pier? I've had the car for almost five years and its been sucking my wallet dry for nearly four. I mean i love the car it still looks great and it is fun to drive, but the damn thing is more frustrating than my last girlfriend, and thats saying alot. Its just this endless money pit. Every time i fix something, something else goes wrong. Its an endless cycle and i just feel like im throwing money away. I mean its got some nice wheels on it and i like to keep it shiny but its really embarrassing pulling up somewhere and it always squeaking, rattling or knocking. Everyday it makes a new noise. And any new car thats worth driving is just too much money. I just dont know what to do with it anymore should i keep fixing it or save my money for something else? what do you guys think?

sell it and get a slightly older model? one with lower mileage and good maintenance records to prove it was taken care of.

edit: i know the feeling, my old A4 felt like that sometimes. it only had 120k when i bought it but it was an SF car and they get beat up pretty bad

Sell it and get a 1.8T. LOL.
Aren't 2.8 supposed to be more reliable?

It's really your call. I don't really mind dumping money on mine since I'm planning to keep it forever as it's the project car.

well i would love it to be a project car but college and limited cash flow is kind of preventing that. and i havent really had many problems with the engine its pretty much everything else thats a pain. if i had my way i would drop a 2.7 in there and RS4 the **** out of it but thats not really an option right now

If you really want an Evo, you should probably just sell the car and buy a cheap reliable DD such as a Toyota or a Honda.

To be honest, people that love their cars will never stop finding things that go wrong with the car. We know what's going on and can't stand knowing that it's broken or something is wrong with it.

your model is pretty desirable, you should be able to get at least 6-7k for it. that's enough for a pre-00 1.8T...you could even get an old 12v with low mileage for 3-4k, those are the most reliable of any B5 imo. OR, if you're really serious about the evo, you should probably get an old honda and save every penny. you can buy a decent honda for 2 grand and never have to put a dime into it except for gas and oil changes

well if i do get an evo (pigs will fly first), it would be my DD. and i agree with you on that second part which is why ive spent so much money on it because i fix every little thing wrong with it even if its small and non mechanical.
