paycuts (rant)
Had a company wide meeting today and I (and everyother tech) are getting 6% of our codes cut as of june 20th, last year at this time they decide to get rid of our 40% bonus. and in the fall they cut our rhp codes by 18%, rhp=Rogers home phone, ya i work for those cheap.....****** (rogers cable system)! so to me that is about 50% pay cut. I am peice work which is why we get paid by codes.
i would quit but got bills to pay and all i know is cable, been doin cable since i left highschool (goin on 5 years now) and the only company where i am locatedis Rogers......I really like that rolex watch my district manager has why cant they cut his paycheck or my dispatch? he dont do **** but hand out stupid junkemails.
im finished ranting now thanks for listening to me b!tch

^^^ very funny, I will use it in my next meeting with my boss. You always need something to break the ice. The last time I told him that I would prefer to quit than being fired, he told me he already had my resignation letter ready waiting for my signature... He was smiling but I am not certain how much humor there was, he always uses some part of truth, you just have to figure out which part... I am still employed and this has been the running joke for a couple of years so maybe the joke is on him!!!!
TeeterTawter - the situation does svck and since bills never stop, you often feel pressed to keep the course but you are 22 / 23???? I did not start a real paying job until I was 27! You have time, you can always do some additional training and find something else. I always hear that AB has tons of jobs and they have to bring people from the outside. There may be some opportunities. Why limit yourself geographically???
Anyway, good luck to you.
