Default Pelosi on Illegal Immigration

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...aids-american/

Some news agencies dont think this story is very important, but when the Speaker of the House calls it un-American to enforce the laws of this country I think we should pay attention. When the stimulus bill was passed, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid killed a provision that would require contractors to use e-verify to confirm the legal status of workers it hired through stimulus aid. The system is free and easy to use and would guarantee that jobs are created for American citizens only. Now she is pandering to the Mexican community, one of the fastest growing voter groups in this country. She has a lot of power, but seemingly no accountability.

Pelosi's a twit and is not long for the political world. It is truly beyond me how she got the Speaker's post in the first place - I had never heard of her until then and I'm in the state she resides in.

But it's nitwits like her that that pander to extreme left views that has caused politicos like Sen Bayh and others to create a "centrists" caucus of Democrats to shield the US from having a majority in the Senate and steamrolling such bullsheet through.

Unfortunately for us, Pelosi is one of the most influential figures in the democratic party and last years elections have given her nearly unchecked political power. The lack of accountability that she enjoys leads me to believe that she is symbolic of the liberal movement in this country.

Well that's your opinion, mate. But I can possibly lay you odds that her opinions mean little to none in the current administration and only time will show how much of a divide it is.

When you have prominent Democratic Senators branching off as hardcore moderates - even Obama's Chief of Staff is supporting them - it goes to show how far this "liberal movement in this country" that you perceive is actually going.

No where.

I think that the move towards the middle by some democrats shows just how worrisome the liberal movement is even to memebers of the democratic party. Its hard to justify that the liberal movement is going nowhere. Like I said, it was liberals who have allowed stimulus money to go to illegal immigrants. It is liberals who support the cap and trade sytem, the green movement, social healthcare, decrease in military funding, etc. and all of these topics are a focus of Obama's agenda. Liberal entities like the Huffington post now have white house credentials. ACORN recieves government funding and is now involved in the national census which will effect future elections and the allocation of tax payer money. It is the liberal movement that has made immigration reform an after thought. In fact, Obama's cheif of staff and others in his administration have made a "hit list" of conservative leaders.

It looks like many of the workplace enforcement raids have been suspended so that the policy may be evaluated.

Pelosi is the most powerful member of the legislative branch. Obama might not care what her opinions are (although he should) but she might not care what Obama's opinions are either, as long as he keeps signing the bills that she puts in front of him.

Well, as I mentioned before, you're going to see a rift in that relationship. Like all things her usefulness will be limited soon.

Speaker of the House is a powerful position, only because your party is in power. But as the Dems learned in the early years of the Clinton administration - you can't be untouchable. And if the GOP finally quits listening to their extreme right wing pundits and self righteous radio (Beck, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, ad nauseum) then they will again seize power of Congress and Pelosi will just be another fly on the wall.

The good thing is that Pelosi can only serve 6 yrs as assembly (that 3 terms - unless she runs for the Senate) in California. Don't know where she falls - she's been in since '87 and the term limits just went into effect in 07...

But, like you, I'm in no way a fan of hers... maybe she'll melt if we toss mop water on her...

I dont think that Beck or O'Reilly are the problem with the power of the Republican party. In fact, I think the Repubs need to stick closer to their values and principles. I dont know much about Limbaugh but I am guessing that he is no more extreme than Keith Olberman. I also beleive that some liberal commentators were hoping that Bush would fail as President. Besides, casting Limbaugh as the leader of the conservative movement is somewhat of a facade that was admittedly created by the Obama administration.

But Pelsoi has more influence on policy than all of these entertainers combined. And I think that when she calls it unAmerican to arrest illegal immigrants, she is echoing the sentiment of her liberal constituents.

Really? So that's why you have the head of the GOP party apologizing to Limbaugh? And nearly everybody in the GOP from governors, senators on down kissing his fat ***... that he's just an entertainer??

Do let the mass of "ditto-heads" out there let you hear that....

Hey, I'm with you 100% on the illegal immigrant thing. But I truly believe you're giving Pelosi waaaay to much cred. She's almost sabotaged a few key things due to her grandstanding... one thing about Washington insiders, they like their ***' kissed but not on television for all to see...

Btw... I was incorrect about the term limits - that's only for State officials - not Federal ones... which would explain how she's stayed in power since '87...

She's gotta go.
