Default Project car time

I posted up a while back that I was going to get a 99 M3. I decided it was too much money for my right now, and I'd rather have something older, smog exempt, and cheaper. One of my buddies picked up a 1973 BMW 2002 - it handles amazing, looks great, etc. Unfortunatly, in accordance with the 'buddy code', I asked if I could get one too, but he said since I make more money than him and dump more money into cars, he'd rather I didn't because mine would inevitably end up nicer and faster. He was afraid that if mine were nicer, people would forget he got one first. We talked it over and I decided I'd get the Japanese BMW 2002: Datsun 510.

I've been looking every day for one, and finally found a guy who knows someone near sacramento that buys them, fixes them, and resells them. I talked to him tonight and he said he's going to find me an untouched one and sell it to me for a pretty good deal.

I'm thinking KA swap, dual webers, 14" wheels, and a cherry bomb out the side.

Your thoughts

Ive seen a few cool mazda 13b swaps into 510's, makes for a neat little ride.

Although Ive seen a few chev350 swaps too......[sm=badbadbad.gif][sm=badbadbad.gif][sm=badbadbad.gif] (makes for a fun drag car......)

Excellent choice on a project car but keep rotary and domestic motors out of it. A ka24 would be a cool motor in there especially if you turbocharged it but when talking bang for the buck maybe you should look into an sr20. I have seen it done and it is sick.
