obviously its not invincible... and that article never said it was a quattro... But in all seriousness... you really gotta be careful no matter what you are driving

People in Denver buy Audis because they are Quattro, its pretty safe to assume the vehicle in question was as well. I only posted it as a reminder that it helps but driving according to conditions is still neccessary.

I can (and regularly do) go out in a blizzard and drift corners all around town for 2 hours straight, but theres still the chance that 1/1000 times it wont go as planed and im gonna slide off the road into a stonewall or tree or something.

Thank god it hasnt happened yet **knock on wood** but quattro or not it can. Iv allready had more than a few close calls and ended up in a snow bank more than once

Ya quattro won't stop u from sliding off the road. I have spun out a few times in parking lots and even slid through a stop sign before. And LOL at it working better w/ 4 wheels.

As my friend from New Hampshire always likes to say - regardless of drivetrain, rubber on ice is rubber on ice.

He was always referring to 70 ton armored battle tanks sliding on ice... but it applies here as well

totally agree with you, quattro was never meant to be sped in on terrible conditions, though it help, good reminder that AWD isnt a reason to get too cocky.

at least it seems like only the audi driver was killed. i kno thats not the nicest thing to say, but if your gunna drive like an ***, dont take anyone out w/ you.

and me personally ive never had a problem doing the speed limit in slippery conditions, the car works great. as soon as you go over the speed limit is when it gets risky. as long as you drive basically normal in bad weather quattro helps a lot.

I've spun out in my quattro once, though I live in some of the worst snow conditions in the country (upper peninsula). It was a turn, i was going too fast and quattro does nothing for braking.

You really have to realize that no matter what you're driving, you're still going to have to obey the laws of physics, Audi's are pretty heavy cars and really have a lot of inertia when they're moving. Furthermore, the quattro doesn't help when you're trying to brake - at all!

Just dont get cocky and know that the back end of a quattro usually kicks out a little before the front catches (at least from what i've seen). Make sure to practice drifting in a parking lot to know the feeling of it and you'll be good.
