Im looking to buy an 01 a6 2.7 twin turbo 6spd. It looks like the 03 a4? Also the motor seems like the s4 2.7 twin turbo 6spd? What is up with this? Is it the same motor as the s4? Is it the same body as the 03 A4? Im superrrrr confused! I would figure this car would be super expensive cause of the engine like the s4 and the body like the newer a4 but its not that expensive...

 

It's the same engine as the S4 but not the same body as the B6 A4. Styling is similar but the A6 is bigger and seeing them side by side you'd immediately spot the differences.

 

Yeah I did some research and noticed the difference in body. Well im happy to hear the motor is the same as the s4. What would be a good price or over price for an 01 a6. I looking at an 01 for $5000. Considering the motor and tranny I figured it was a great deal?

 

01 2.7T for $5000? Expect to put at least that in to repairing ****, probably with in the 1st year. Ask me how I know.....

How many miles on that 2.7? Turbos and timing belt/wp ever replaced? How are the control arms, valve cover gaskets and related seals, coolant after run pump, ect, ect?

 

^ What he said. The car might be considered cheap but expect to put a lot on maintenance.

The car has more moving parts because of the bi-turbo so there will be more things that break on them.
