Questions about turning in my leased audi (acceptable condition, charges, and negotiating)
Hi Guys, I've got a 2006 Audi A4 leased for 24 months, 15k miles a year in very early November 05.
Overall I've taken good care of the car.
However
There is minor curb rash on the lip of one wheel covering maybe a 2-3 inch portion
I got a shopping cart door ding on the passenger side front door - the actual dent itself is maybe the size of a nickel, no paint damage, but if you look at the right angle you can see the metal around it being angled slightly inward from the dent for the size of maybe a half dollar, but again that's only if you look in the right lighting at the right angle.
The passenger side rear door has minor scratches on the rear door - maybe the size of a dime - enough to see the white underneath the paint - no dent though.
Which, if any (or all), of these things do you think they will charge me for upon turn-in and how much would they charge? Would I be better trying to get a 3rd party shop to fix the car up before I took it in?
If I offered to lease another Audi would they be likely to 'overlook' those minor issues or is this something that they are required to 'abide by' per Audi's financial services department, regardless of it I lease another Audi or end up going somewhere else?
I know they said there was something like a $450 aquisition fee that I had to pay upon turn-in but that they would waive it if I leased another Audi. So obviously there's some flexibility involved.
Lastly - these Pirelli tires sure seem to not have much in the way of treadlife. I don't drive this car that hard (at least not in a 'tire spinning/squeeling' way) and I can already tell the fronts will need replacement here shortly and I'm barely over 20k miles.
Tires are EXPENSIVE for this car!! Like $200 is the cheapest I can find them per tire.
I'm 95% sure that if I refrain from rotating the tires, the rear tires will stay well within parameters (1/8" tread remaining), but the fronts will need to be replaced. Is it acceptable on a lease turn in to have non matching tires front to rear so long as the size matches? What about if I bought used tires that were in fine shape? I guess they wouldn't know the difference.
I know, call me cheap if you want, I probably deserve it, but would you want to spend $1000+ on a car that was no longer yours if you didn't have to?
BTW - I really really like the new Audi A5. Audiusa.com says "late fall" release. Do you think it will be out by the time I have to turn my car in on November 1st 07? If not I will have to go with the TT or the 335i coupe. My wife wants a coupe this time around.
Thanks guys.

Go with the TT. They look sweet as hell, bigger than the old ones, faster, and i think will be more fun in the long run.
