Default Quick tire fitment question!

I got some 18x7.5 wheels that came with 235/40 tires on them. I need new tires and I was wondering if 225/40 width would fit on them? I am pretty new to tires! Thanks guys!

Either size would fit, but I'd think that 235 is the better bet on an A6... 225 is what we run on b5 A4's.

he might get that stretched euro tire look that some people like for some wierd reason
with 235 u might get a tire lip that can protect the rim from curb damage

Hey now! I'm running the 'stretched tire euro look' and I love it!
I've got 225's on 8.5" wide fronts, and 255's on 9.5" rears... quite a bit of stretch!

But I meant better as in, more like the OEM size of your tires. I'm thinking A6's came with 235/45/17's... so to keep the same sized tire (rolling circumference) you'd go with a 235/40/18. A6 is a big car... tires that are too skinny will look weird.

Kuhmo = teh suck.

If you're after cheap tires, look into the General Exclaim UHP... I had them on my 17's and they were really nice! Kuhmo's get SO noisy as they get close to half tread... seriously. They are junk!

Start up a poll! I've heard many complaints... the most common being horrendous noise after 10-12k miles.

Edgeracing.com has some tires on sale... Falken ZIEX 512's for 95 a tire in 235/40/18. I bought my Falkens from them, and they were awesome. Nice tire so far, too!
