The cleanest most abundant source of power is nuclear fission. Unfortunately, Obama says that nuclear power needs to be improved by developing safer ways to handle waste.

The French dont seem to having any problems producing or selling nuclear power throughout Europe.

While I believe that foreign oil is a bad thing, I think that we don't have as much to do with climate change as we like to think we do.

All I'm saying is.... 16 years from now we might be looking back at Al's crazy charts and going "DOH!" Why 16 years? Because thats about how long ago I remember seeing Ross Perot's crazy charts and the irony is just funny, or not funny.

You do realize that Obama is right, right? That's not to say we don't have Nuclear power in America. Here is a link to all of the Nuclear Power sites in America. http://www.nrc.gov/reactors/operatin...-reactors.html

Obama is right though saying we need safer ways to handle the radioactive waste that will always be a factor for nuclear reactors. The big idea for all of the nuclear waste is to bunch it all up and transport it across our highway systems into a place called Yucca Mountain which is in Nevada about 80 miles outside of Las Vegas. http://www.nrc.gov/waste/hlw-disposa...a-lic-app.html

This won't be a one time thing either, nuclear waste will have to be transported at a certain rate (IIRC they wanted to do this annually). I personally don't want to be at risk of a major bombing on all of our highway systems at a vulnerable time like that, and have all of the nuclear waste deposited at that site. Another thing to keep in mind is that as long as we depend on nuclear power we will have nuclear waste and radioactive waste takes a really long time to decompose (if it even does) and Yucca Mountain is a definite size which will be filled.

I'm not bashing nuclear power don't get me wrong I want to have energy independence as much as the next guy but not at the expense of leaving our nation vulnerable to an attack of that magnitude.

Let's pour it in the gas tanks of our b5's. Mainly the 2.8s though because they're already slow as hell. Maybe it can act like a superfuel and give my 2.8 power beyond my wildest dreams.
