To be perfectly honest......this thing looks pretty bad ***. (I especially like the wheels....they look a bit, well, RS4ish...[sm=smiley2.gif])

opinions? (try to be objective here....)

I've given the new 3 series BMW's a test drive at a local BMW dealer, I was impressed. The new M3 does look good I'll admit. So the next step is for Audi to raise the RS4's horsepower, and have BMW follow.

I still say the E46 M3 is the best looking platform yet but this new M3 looks great. I'm still at odds with that bulge in the hood, and those taillights look like they were pulled from an A5. Knowing bmw are gunning for the RS4 this new M3 will be right up there with, if not surpassing, the RS4. Its a great time to be a car nut...Apart from the same 45mm offset they look like regular BBS's to me.

To be perfectly honest, I think the new M3's are going to s**t all over the RS4. As it is, the new 3-coupe's have a 300 HP engine, and are pulling 4.9 0-60s (car and driver test). The M3's are going to be lighter than the coupes, plus more power. Low weight + alot of HP = FAST CAR

Rest assured AUDI will come up with something..From a technology standpoint, I still think the AUDI RS4 is superior to the M3.

it will NOT stomp a RS4. the new m3's are supposed to have around low 400 and will be slightly heavier than a regular 3 series. not to mention an RS4 is AWD and will definitely stomp a m3 from a dig, no question. the rs4 has a power to weight ratio of 8.66 lb/hp, while the last m3 coupe had 9.61 lb/hp. this one better be a lot better if it hopes to stand a chance.

that aside, i think its a very sexy car and i would buy one if i had the money (mostly for the RWD fun) i would probly change the hood tho

I like the hood and in my opinion the new 3 series is the most influential line bmw has ever produced.

Yeah this car will almost certainly have the edge over our beloved RS4. Ah well.
It does seem that BMW reigns champion over audi on the racetrack 95% of the time. The only time Audi wins is when they unveil something brand new and compete with BMW's aging models.

That being said, I'd still take an RS4 over an M3 for the same reasons most of us chose A4's over 3 series bimmers.

They're both incredible cars... but they each have their own strenghts and weaknesses, that's for sure.
