wolf spider. word.

napping in a canoe one summer. halfway woke up when i felt what i thought was a drop of water run off my side. then it turned around and ran back up. flipped out and heaved myself out of teh boat when i saw what it was, but it was too late. while i was sleeping it was munching on my back. nasty bite those things have.

also have these other spiders, dunno what they're called, so we just call them 'dock spiders'. you can guess where they hang out. Absolute worst taking the docks out in early fall, because they're all over the underside. Bodies resembling grapes (but brown). Those little (and I use that term loosely) bastards splash when they hit the water, and they'll run across the surface of the water right at you!

And so you're certain to not sleep well tonight, for your viewing pleasure, wolf spider.

I hate anything that has to do with ears. Anything in my ears creeps me out. A spider would suck. I used to have tubes in my ears so I had to use ear plugs to go swimming, well apparently I sucked at putting them in because two large chunks got lodged into my ear and were there for weeks. Worst pain ever when the doctor extracted them.
