Default FTP

ive got an extra computer that i want to make into an FTP/Bittorrent computer. i know the bit torrent thing like the back of my hand but i was wondering if any of you guys knew anything about FTP servers. the most important thing i have to know is how to convert your computer into an FTP server, do you have to download a special program that creates the server and then download the client for the other computers that need access to it or what?

Also does anyone know any good programs for hosting and clients?

What operating system do you have? Windows xp pro has a built in ftp capability.

I don't think it has server capabilities though.

Nasty try filezilla, it's easy to learn and setup.

I use Serv-U for my ftp server. Works quite well. Once you download, you get a free trial with the professional version. After the trial period it kicks into generic mode, but the generic mode works great for basic ftp functions, you just lose some admin capabilities.

IIS allows one server me thinks, otherwise you need to get XP server/2003.
