styling/performance- other than an audi. your thoughts

for those of you who arent stuck on audi, or have sudgestions- Which car in the general price range of your car would you take if you were replacing yours. Reason im asking is as much as my car is great looking inside- the a4 just doesnt satisfy me enough to keep it. So far im thinking of cars 8-18k with looks(potential at least) and enough power to say run sub 14s with ease or few mods. i.e. 350z, s2000, camaro, 2nd gen mr2,gto, etc.perferably the top of the line vehicle for that model. (not- bmw 325 or cars that dont compare to their "delux" model, like the M3)

hate most american cars, one I can really afford is junk cars…
asian cars: good performance and looks, I wouldn’t buy it only because had few for a while and they aren’t so comfortable and fun to drive, safety might be an issue, and I think they dont stand out like german cars.

love everything in german car’s, but wouldn’t buy some bmws only because see many of them

if u would explained more what u don’t like in audi, what doesn’t satisfy u? power, performance, look, efficiency ,hard to maintain …. ???
want more luxury get and A6 or 8, more power S4… even A4 is a good car if u invest some money and time into it

Granted I'm biased from owning one, but the Z32 (90-96) 300ZX twin turbo is, in my opinion, hard to beat for style (either OEM or modded), power potential (easy to make 430hp for little cash), handling (fantastic), and overall ease of use, ownership, comfort, etc. You can find a cherry one easily inside that price range.

For $18k huh? Well, if I had that much money...I'd sure as hell drop a RB26dett into my 71' Datsun 240z, get a set of fender flares, paint it like Eleanor, Put ANY interior into it, and wahlah! Granted it's a 2300 pound car, with the say...400hp from a slightly built RB26, and there's the fast part for you. Luxury is all in the components you use, and make sure to cage the beast, because there isn't even door beams or anything like that. Luckily, mine is caged, saved me a step. And it only cost me $350...granted it was just a rolling shell. OR...go RX-7/RX-8

If you aren't dead set on getting an audi...RX-8's are pretty sweet, my old boss had one and loved it. I never looked into mods for it, but there were plenty for the RX-7's so I'm sure they're out there.
