Default Sub selection/opinion

OK. Audi stock systems have absolutley ZERO thumping-ness. And I want more. Lookin at a JL 8W7. Only heard good things, and I like my trunk space. Understandably the 8W7 will cost me a buttload, but itll kick *** and take up minimal space.
Looking to see if anyone has any other recomendations, advice, opinions on the subject. What are you guys running, how do you like it, would you recommend it, was it hard to install...

I'm all about the Kicker L-Series and Memphis M3's. Clean and accurate bass. What amp you gonna be running?

No idea yet man. If I do the setup and get into spending the money, ill prob do it right and match the amp to the sub im getting, same company, recommended specs. This thread is all about opinions recommendations, where would you point me, besides putting some Mb-quarts in my B6, soeaker upgrades are beyond me.

w7's are way overpriced. and they are actually pretty big. and you also need a big enclosure to make it sound right. if you got the money then go for it. other i would suggest tho are kicker comp, alpine type r, and eclipse Ti. Or if you want a ridiculous sub that will outperform the w7 look into Resonant Engineering and Adire Audio.

How many subs do you plan on running? I used to think that the louder my **** was the cooler it sounded. That was when I was a stupid 16/17 yr old but now I just like to listen to my music and keep it to myself. So I like clean accurate bass, when I can feel more than hear. I still wanna listen to the lyrics and beat rather than having an annoying bassline rattling my brain out. That's why I like my Kicker L5. Its loud as hell but no distortion you'll find in a JL or Type R. Must get a Vented box made right. And you get a better set up if you mix and match. Kicker amps aint my thing so I went with the Maxxsonic's Autotek SS1100.1. They make the best amps IMO. I'm putting a 12' Memphis M3 in my A6 with a Hifonics 1800.1 amp (also made by Maxxsonics) so shop around and to get the best stuff don't go to a big store.

i have 2 12' JL W3's and a JL 500/1 (supposed to be a true 500 watt amp) and let me tell you i only keep it at 1/2 bass and i blow all my friends systems away! and since i figured out the hidden Eq audi has its even better now....i got a great deal on it 6 months before it even came out so im really happy with it....but my one friend had 2 inverted 2 exverted apline type R's in his audi and his thing was a show stopper it was a $10g system he had in his car so theres alot of options

I have a 12w7 setup to a 1000/1v2 amp, and I think that the center mirror is going to fall off everytime I turn it up, I don't think the 8w7 would be much less louder than the 12w7....
