vista isn't really much better than xp. i like the search they have in the start menu and how it manages your programs a little bit better but in turn uses a **** load of ram. don't upgrade just for the hell of it. do it when you reformat and just dual boot. one thing you should get is linux. i recommend ubuntu since it's free and has a **** load of support
