Default Which of these two cars should I get?

So, I'm unforunately on a kind of tight budget. I wrecked my car (first car) a few months ago, and we're still solving everything with the insurance company. We got full coverage instead of liability a few weeks before the accident and they didn't put it in their system yet, blah, blah, blah. Basically, the insurance claim is still pending.

I've found two cars within my budget. One is a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II (153k miles, 0 accidents, V8, automatic, 12/17 MPG, 188HP/250TQ). And the other is a 2000 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro (Quattro=turbo, V6, 0 accidents, 172k miles, 16/23MPG, 190HP, 207TQ). The Land Rover cosmetically, looks like it's in better shape. Although the Audi...well it's an Audi. It has some imperfections inside of the car, but other than that, it looks good.

Just so you do know, quattro does not equal turbo. Quattro just means all wheel drive. The 2.8 is naturally aspirated, no turbo. The 1.8t on the other hand, has a turbo and can also be had with quattro.

Being an Audi forum, most of us here will tell you to get the Audi. Read some threads on here about what to look for(maintenance and such) before buying the car though.

While Audi (especially B5) is known to have some issues that need to be addressed, maintenance wise, Land Rover is NOTORIOUS for expensive repairs...

just a thought...

And you ARE asking US to choose between an Audi and a Land Rover on an Audi forum... Is this really a question?

Default Trouble

Land Rover spells trouble, not Land Rover.

I went with no-vote.

2 sub-par choices.

Keep shopping.

The Lando Disco has, in my limited experiences with them from over a decade ago, HORRIBLE ergonomics, on top of the iffy reliability issues.
