Default to those who play guitar.

got a quick question. I have a les paul rep and have been having problems with the input on the guitar. I have to wiggle the chord around to get my guitar to work. I have taken the input piece out and squeezed the medal part that makes a connection but it doesnt last for long.
Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Its really annoying and im 2 seconds from taking it to a pawn shop and selling it lol. I have to sit a certain way once its working and if i move around it loses connection and i have to wiggle the friggin thing around again. By buddy has the same problem with his fender but has made no real effort to fix it. I just hate having a guitar that i can barely play.

thanks for any tid bits lol

I would buy a new input jack, as great as Gibson is, they often times use obsolete parts where they can, which is why I play a Carvin. You also can't sacrifice on guitar cables, buy a nice gold plated cable like a monster or something similar, its worth it.

well idk man, sounds like its internal wiring then. If you are handy with a soldering iron you might wanna open the back up and see if you cant find any loose connections. Is it a gibson or an epiphone les paul?

on the topic of guitars, i'm just about to buy this one :]

and the other guitars i own

and this amp
