What a shame. Was an awesome car. Says that a Ferrari pulled out in front of him and the driver lost it. If you ask me, thats what happens when people have more money than talent.

What an obnoxious statement. You sound jealous......

Who cares about the car, think about the people's family. At least they were racing on a speedway responsibly. Talent and money have nothing to do with it, it's called an accident, have you or anyone you know of ever been in one? does that mean you have no talent, I mean wtf kind of asinine statement is that.

bluovalguy, you're asking to be flamed for this post....we had this discussion a couple days after it happened.....have a little respect, this wasn't some rich guy who didn't know anything about cars or racing, he was an avid porsche enthusiast, a family man, and well-respected by many, many people...the ferrari caused the accident, it's a very tragic story

The ferrari driver was who I was talking about. I read the article (whole thing) on a german car forum. I was not talking about the the guy in the porshe. And I even read all the post from his friends on the forum so I know he was talented and knew what he was doing. Guess I should have clarified that.

The ferrari itself got in the way of the porsche, but it wasnt the cause... the cause was the dumbass person who flagged the ferrari onto the track, while the CGT was ripping around the bend at 100+mph. So the ferrari driver can't be blamed either, it was the track manager's responsibility.

actually, from what i remember, the guy flagged the ferrari out with plenty of time to stay in front of the cgt, but the ferrari driver hesitated, and by the time the ferrari finally went (partially do to his passenger yelling "GO"), the track manager was giving him the no-go.
