Duralast Gold

Thanks guys for your replies.

Got the Duralast Gold battery for $150 from Autozone yesterday and installed it myself. Here are the specs of the new battery, which I think are better than the OEM battery:

Part Number: H6-DLG
BCI Group: H6 (48)
Cranking Amps: 750
Reserve Capacity: 80

The radio didn't reset or anything, but I had to reteach the windows the 'one touch' settings. Just saved $125 dollars by doing this myself thanks to your help!

Not dangerous.....

Seem this done by pros several times, just pay attention to what you are doing, nobody gets hurt, nothing is damaged.
Glad your DIY worked. Good job.

I followed the instructions in this DIY to make sure that I didn't electrocute myself:

Uh, excuse me for being a neanderthal B5 owner; but you needed a DIY to put a battery in a car?

That's NUTHIN'. I needed almost 4 hours just to FIND my battery (D2 A8), the first time it died on me.

Good thing you didn't get charged by the hour...

I was a pro and i would NEVER do that! A single spark directly over a battery can get you some bad JU JU. Like battery acid to the face bad! Seen that happen BTW, not pretty.
