I was coming home tonight with my gf and another girl from a bbq. Was driving on 90/94 towards I55 (chicago area, for those who dont know). i was passing up cars quite fast, got to down town and about 1/4th mile from I55 when i see these 2 cars with front wheel drive just driving like ******** swerving around cars.
At taht instant i said to my gf.."holy **** what idiots..." then i was just about to say.. " WTF are they doing swerving around like that without quattro"...(not knowing what would happen next).

1 second later one of the cars lost control at 90mph swerved around a car into the emergency lane on the left then swerved back out then straight into the concrete wall and from that point it shot back out to the right, across 4 lanes of traffic up the steep hill on the right and came to rest between a steel poll and a concrete wall.

I was completely shocked!! I was about 100 feet back when this happend!! Nobody in the car was moving. i saw the drivers body in there in the seat. wasnt moving.

what upsets me most about this is that these idiots that were racing obvously didnt think what would happen if they lost control and worst of all they were not only careless with their own lives but with the LIVES OF OTHERS. that car bounced off that wall at 90mph back across all the lanes. it couldve taken out many other cars. thank god it didnt.


i imidietly called the state police and they said they were already on they way.

btw, these cars were stock cars, just going too fast for what they were made.

I hope eveyone is ok that was in that car.

 

holy shiit thats scary. people that drive like that are idiots they deserve to total their cars.

 

that is just stupid.....i would never be swerving around cars without quattro..........but no really those guys where not very smart to be driving like that....I hope they were ok..

 

...I think it just goes to prove that Darwin was right! The 'not so clever' tend to get removed from the gene pool rather quickly!

It was scary becuase 3 min before that i was driving fast and ****. but i made sure there was enough seperation between the cars for me to menouver around. when it got nasty i stoped. i even joked when i saw the guys racing in my mirror that i should join them but then i saw how stupid they were when they passed me. and 5 seconds later ...bam! the guy smashed into the side. really stupid!

it was like a grand am or something. somthing with front wheel drive. that back end swerved around like a ****.

Unfortunately, ocassionally, when one of the "candidates" decides to move themslves to the head of teh line that sometimes take an innocent bstander with them.

 

Thats crazy... Ive seen my fair share of accidents happen right in front of me but Ill never get used to it... its still a shock to hear or see. Ever find out what happened to the driver?

i was doin like 140 kms, going down the skyway bridge to go to work, it was really wet out, and sunny as damn hell. so im crusin down, pretty fast and pass this 95ish body style 2 door light green civic with just altezzas on it. any way im in the fast lane, hes in the slow. i pass him and i look straight, he comes creepin up, and i look over to the right, look straight, look back over to the right, and the civic is now directly backwards. his tires aare all locked up, and his skidding backwards going down the bridge. i speed up so he doesnt hit me, he swings it back around, and starts going straight, but i think he smashed a car when he swong it back around, becuase that car that he was around, cut him off and they pulled over. you gotta be careful now and days, alotta warpers are drivin around...

 

Nope. He wansnt moving. he had tinted windows too. btw, i think the passenger got out of the car.
