Default What is up with that light!!!!!!!!

Ok. What is the deal with the check engine light on Audis??? My check engine light comes on about every two weeks and stays on for a couple days and then goes off. The same thing happened in my VR6 and I got nothing out of the VW mechanics either. They always pull the old "did you click the gas cap three times" routine. What the hell!! It's the engine light with a lightning bold through it. Didn't spend 40 grand for a check engine light!!!

That's true.

With Chevy's, they just leave the light on from the factory.

I hear Volvo's dont even HAVE dashlights, let alone a CEL!!! That, along with not being able to be stuk on a beach is reason enough for all of us to sell our Horch's and get Volvo's. I wonder if Volvo's have a precursor name, too?

No one at the dealership ever has any idea what the light is on for. I've taken it in twice now and they just turn it off and give me no real explanation. I just say screw it from now on. The car runs great, never had a problem with it but the light gets old. If the car breaks down, they'll just have to come and get it I guess. Warranties are a great thing! Just thought I would vent about it a little bit.

Are you kidding me???? Don't you know by now that you can't even utter the word Volvo under your breath in here, yet alone use it so carelessly in a post. Come on, I expected more of you.

CEL?

om man I have heard about them..

from what i understand to be rid of them you must do 3 things.

1) learn to spell like AGP96

3) sell your car to a kid like Agp96

5) buy a velvita Volvo as a replacement

7) Learn to count like me.
