Ok, My A6 was at Audi a couple of weeks ago because the CEL was on. I was so scared to take it in there but I finally had to do it. I was so relieved that everything was under warranty. A CAT and mass air flow sensor and the car was purring like a kitten and no check engine light. Well, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that when I stopped for gas yesterday, the damn light came back on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! God Damnit I am so pissed off right now. What the hell is up with this damn light! I have never been through anything like this. Not even in my VR6 and that thing was the biggest piece of crap I ever owned! Car is running just fine with no signs of problems, so I have no idea what it could be now. I'm getting the codes read on Saturday then stopping by the nearest **** store to buy some lube. I have a feeling I'm going to be bending over very soon... What a complete joke. I really wonder why we own these things sometimes!

This may sound like a no-brainer, but, make sure the gas-cap is screwed on tight...

 

Yeah, that was my first thought but with my luck, it was not the problem... I was 100 percent that when I left that stealership, it would only be a matter of time before that light came back on. I in no way trust those guys and I really think they will set your car up to fail when you take it in there. What are you going to do? There is no one to monitor the way they do business. I think they should be monitored just like insurance companies, etc. Total crap. The car was just completely serviced and all problems fixed. That light should not be back on.

 

Yeah, they prolly just wiped teh dust off, and sprayed some carb-cleaner up the air-box, or sunthin[:'(]

There IS a way you could monitor them. get a RILLY, RILLY small camera wit a remote hard drive (100g laptop drives are about $100.00 @ www.pricewatch.com), and some "motion-sensor" software. Mount teh camera under the hood (literally!!!), so it points down at teh mota... Whenever someone pokes around under your bonnet they get recorded. Oh, you'd need a laptop to slave the drive to. If you've already got the laptop it'd run you, what, $200.00, mebbee $250.00 TOPS...
Wireless spycam = $$50.00
Laptop drive = $100.00 (pricewatch.com)
Software (may even come with teh camera?!?!?) = $30.00 (shareware)
External case for HDD = $9.00 (www.tigerdirect.com)
BUSTIN THEIR @$$es and bribing them for a lifetime of free service for you not to take your evidence to the local news station = PRICELESS

 

im sure is something easly like an 02 sensor out, its nuthin major casue if so u car wont start or go

LOL. Sorry dude. I just bitch when my damn light comes on. Everything that has gone wrong with my car, which really hasn't been a lot has been covered by warranty. I really can't complain but it really hurts your stomach to know that you have to go to the stealership. I love my car. Did you see the latest pics? C'mon, it's freakin' gorgeous... LOL.

You really don't read that much about this on Japanese car forums. I guess we German car fans are gluttons for punishment. The Jap car people have their own problem sthough. I'm glad that your stuff is under warranty. That much is good news.

 

YEah at least the lil' inconvience is worth the fact youve got warranty still...
