Why do you guys try to cover up your license plates?
 

I'm just wondering why you guys feel its so necessarry to white out something which is in clear view of hundreds if not thousands of people every day. Do you think some guy is out there writing your plate #s down with a smirk saying to himself "I'm gonna get these fu*kers"?

I think it's because the "hundreds if not thousands of people every day" who see your license plate don't pay attention because they're driving, needing to concentrate on other things, and take it for granted that everyone in his/her city has one. Pictures on the internet don't change, this allows people to pay more attention to detail. Sites such as cardomain and even the forums here are for those who which to share information and show off any features of their car. Allowing the license plate to remain visible while at the same time showing off an expensive sterio or the schematics to a security system, for example, gives an opportunity for predators to identify a car that might be close by and steal.

Yea just for those reasons man, i mean you can never be too safe with your car

It comes down to - are you more or less likely to face some problem that you created all on your own by putting the maximum amount of information about yourself up on an internet forum. Everyone that you interact with on AF may be really cool, but that doesn't mean that there isn't some lurker that never posts that hates your ass. :eek:
