God, I love futbol!

 

I haven't watched or followed the ROTW's version of football since I left Europe, back in 2000... Catch me up on EVERYTHING I've missed, so I can make relevant, concise, insightful observations.

Spain beat the Netherlands in the 2010, 1-0, in overtime, in the Championship match. Today, Spain was embarrassed by the Dutch, 5-1. It all started with a spectacular goal in the 44th minute by Van Persie, which has my vote for the goal of the summer.

What a thriller that was. I have to admit, I wasn't too impressed with the way Ghana maintained possession throughout most of the match. But in the end, the only thing that matters are the goals!

As for Brazil v. Mexico? I think a 0-0 draw is definitely a win for the Mexico side!
