Zeitgeist
This may be a little too serious for many of you and this is not spam, I do own an Audi and really do like this forum. Anyway, look at http://zeitgeistmovie.com/ - it deals with many issues, so please don't be turned off by the first issue, religion, it goes into much much more (the second half explains a lot, most importantly, the Federal Reserve).. A lot of conspiracy related things many of you might be turned off by. Anyway, I ask you watch the whole thing.. now or later, and do your own research.
That is something I can't express enough, do your own research, of all sides. Do your own research. Don't believe this video just because, or don't denounce this video just because. Do your own research. It's the only way to figure out some truth. Look at all sides.
Thank you.

I just watched the whole thing...
Everyone needs to watch this film. Now.
And then forward the link to everyone else. Everyone you care about, everyone you know, even everyone you don't like. Send them a link to this film. Send it out in a staff email at work. Send it out toevery buddy list you have. If you are a member of other forums, post a thread with this link - if a thread has already been posted, bump it to the top so that others will see it.
I learned several things from this; it even changed some of my own personal opinions. I now intend to re-watch it, take notes, andresearch the facts and information presented in it, just to confirm it for myself. This is probably one of the most important things you will ever see - watch it, and think about it; use it as inspiration to go and learn more.

Just finished watching this... At times I felt like it was blatantly one sided, and wondered why... I felt like I'd have believed more, had they not omitted the counter-arguments which I know I had heard before elsewhere.
Overall though, I really would recommend it. The first part on religion fascinated me... the rest was also, at times, enlightening.

Obviously, like any documentary, the information in this one is presented in a manner which is consistent with the agenda of the filmmaker. I think this particular film is a great springboard/inspiration to then go and ask some really in-depth questions about the information presented in it. Personally, I don't believe that there is any kind of conspiracy that even approaches the scale of that which is described in "Zeitgeist"; but I do think that at least someof the things which are interpreted by the film as being a part of such a conspiracy are in factdisparate parts of many real agendas.
The important thing is that you should watch this film, think about it, decide what seems to you to be true and what seems false, and what seems mis-represented; and then go and find out for yourself.
For example; the stuff about Horus vs. Jesus at the beginning. The filmmakes the comparison that both Jesus and Horus were born to virgin mothers on Dec. 25, began to teach at the age of 12, were baptized at the age of 30, had 12 disciples, and then were crucified, were dead for three days, and then resurrected. From this, the conclusion is drawn that Jesus (who is said to have lived hundreds of years after Horus) was a recycled carbon-copy of Horus, and that they were both figurativerepresentations of the Sun in an astrological sense.
However, with just a little internet searching, you can find out that no Horus scholars have found any evidence whatsoever that Horus was born to a virgin mother, or that he had 12 disciples (Horus was born to the goddess Isis, and he had eight or so followers, who were not necessarily disciples). Most of the other comparisons are still valid, though, and this does not exactly debunk allthe claims in the film, nor does it debunk the Christian faith. It is simply information which exists, and can be interpreted.
Another one is the **** connections with the Bush family. Prescott Bush, our current president's grandfather, was in fact a shareholder anddirectorat Union Banking Corporation;which, in the years leading up to WWII, held financial assets belonging to the **** party. However, at the time this was NOT illegal - FDR did not enact the Trading With The Enemy Act until six days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Does this constitute a direct connection between the Bush family and the **** party? Or is it simply that P. Bush happened to be associated with a bank which happened to have done legitimate business at one time with the **** party? Seems like shaky grounds for a valid conspiracy theory.
Just think about it - don't take anything at face value, even things like this which purport to tell you why you shouldn't take anything at face value. Asking a question is the first step toward learning something.
