2019 RS3 - Ticking engine sound

Hello - I have a new 2019 RS3 which makes a ticking engine sound when at a stop or backing up. It's very noticeable inside the cockpit. Engine could be cold or warm. Dealer claims this is normal, but my 2017 did not have this noise. Anyone else experiencing this?
