RS6 C6 - Daytime running lights LED

RS6 C6 - Daytime running lights LED
2008/9 RS6 RHD (imported to Hong Kong from the UK).
My right hand side DLR's (LED) have failed.
This happened about a month ago and I have done some research and it appears the only fix is to purchase a new sealed headlight unit which costs $$$$$'s
Has anyone encounter this on their RS6 and found a more economical solution...?
FYI - this also happened about a year ago when my regular garage managed to fix it - connection problem I think, but this time it appears terminal!!!
