I'm thinking of buying a 04 or 05 S4 with somewhere between 70-100k miles. Anyone have info on reliability/maintenance costs? Heard some horror stories but others seem to have no issues. Also, due to back issues will be buying an auto. Sadly having to get rid of my manual

 

i would also like to know a little more about their reliability when the miles start to add up. ive been debating trading up to a B6 S4 for some time now and want to have my bases covered if i do. Parts are already expensive for my A4, (and i expect that they arent cheap for the S4 either) and i can live with that. you gotta pay to play right? But i also need to drive the car to work every day so i dont want a money pit that i have to fix every weekend. Pretty much why i stayed away from the B5 S4 and opted for an A4. but i feel the 4.2 is more reliable and "tried and true". How do you guys feel about your S4's?
